As the world slowly moves into a fuller reopening, many of us (me included) are grappling with questions around our reemergence.
At the outset of the “great pause” in March 2020, I opened the Wisdom Lounge at SWC (now transformed into a monthly Women’s Wisdom Circle) to provide a safe welcoming space via zoom for our wisdom seekers to process the pandemic experience.
What came up often was a discussion of what our lives would be like on the other side of the pandemic. One thing I heard a lot was a desire to go back to something better - a new normal that didn’t look exactly like our lives before.
I keep harkening back to those conversations to remind me not to rush headlong into doing the same things I did in the pre-pandemic days, without thinking, based on habit. As part of that process, I am reminded to consider my core values as a sort of compass keeping me moving in the direction I intentionally choose to go.
This article has some great tips about how to identify your core values and then put them into practice in your daily life.
Even after you have worked through your core values and contemplated what you would like your post-pandemic activities to look like, it is important not to expect too much from yourself and to go at a pace that works for you.
This article has some ideas about how to manage any anxiety that may be coming up around these issues.
Join us on Thursday, June 3rd at 7:00 p.m. for the next Women’s Wisdom Circle where we will begin to explore how to create our best post-pandemic life using our core values.
We can’t wait to welcome you!
With love and light,
Denise
